Key Concepts & Principles

PrivacyShield

Government can never see your personally identifiable information. Your data is protected by best in class security, and is never shared or sold.

Reducing Blur (The Impact of Accuracy)

The more that public input can be trusted to be accurately representative of the entire community, the more likely it is to have impact.

The Public Mind

No idea is forgotten. Each can be resurfaced later when the timing is more appropriate for an initiative, or to discover unexpected patterns or relationships. Each piece of input essentially contributes to an ever expanding “public mind” that contributes to better governance.

Miniballots

The foundational unit of how members of the public contribute their ideas, perspectives, and opinions to democracyOS. While miniballots are essentially surveys, the difference is that miniballots always abide by the principles of demographic accuracy, contribute to the public mind, and total representation in reporting.

Total Representation

The goal is to incorporate every perspective into reports. This means that out of thousands of pieces of input, every exact words may not be read by a civic leader in the report, but every general sentiment will be communicated..

Input Juries

Our system selects random, stratified panels called Input Juries to respond to Miniballots. If you get a text from us, it means you’ve been selected.
